Which Nissan Model is Right for You?
The great thing about shopping at a Nissan dealer near you is having access to one of the best selections of vehicles anywhere around. Nissan models these days include a wide range of options and different classes and types; no matter what you're looking for, you're likely to find it in the Nissan lineup. However, when you're trying to figure out which model is right for you, things can get a little challenging, especially if you're attempting to look at everything by yourself. While we're always happy to help you find the perfect vehicle, we also know that doing some research on your own is a great way to feel confident in your choice.
Finding the perfect vehicle is all about understanding what you need, looking at what's out there, eliminating what clearly doesn't work, and then using your needs to narrow down your options. Today, we're going to help you with that by briefly going over what's available in Nissan's lineup of fantastic cars, trucks, and SUVs. We won't get into too many details, otherwise this will go on for a very long time, but we'll give you enough of an overview to help you see which ones might work best for you before you pay a visit to our dealership in person. Let's see what Nissan has to offer.
Nissan Cars
Versa
If you're looking for a small car that you can easily fit into even the most pared-down lifestyle, then the Nissan Versa is a great choice. This is a subcompact sedan with a single 1.6L I-4 engine available that makes it a lot of fun to drive, plus 425 L of total cargo volume inside. You still get seating for up to five people inside the Versa, however, so it's a great option for families on a budget since it starts at just $16,798 MSRP.[a]
Sentra
For something a bit larger than the Versa, the Nissan Sentra is a compact sedan with a bit more space inside while still keeping things pretty modest. It's powered by a 2.0L I-4 engine that offers more power and torque than the Versa's engine, plus you get up to about 405 L of total interior cargo space. Combine all of that with standard safety features that include Intelligent Emergency Braking and Rear Automatic Braking, and you have a fantastic option that starts at just $19,498 MSRP.[a]
Altima
Next up, we have the Nissan Altima, which is a midsize sedan perfect for small families or groups of friends. It features a 2.5L I-4 engine with plenty of muscle to make it a thrill to drive, plus you get spacious seating inside and 437 L of interior cargo space. You get Intelligent All-Wheel Drive standard on every Altima model, making it a great choice for dealing with winters here in Leduc, and it starts at just $30,098 MSRP.[a]
Maxima
Finally, the Nissan Maxima is a second midsize sedan option that's the perfect choice if you want plenty of room inside and a thrilling driving experience. The Maxima is powered by a 3.5L V6 engine that is absolutely exhilarating and makes it feel like driving a four-door sports car. You still get 405 L of interior cargo space with the Maxima, plus it features a luxurious interior and starts at $41,740 MSRP.[a]
Nissan SUVs
Kicks
First up for SUVs from Nissan, the Kicks is a subcompact model that's the perfect choice if you want SUV functionality in a small package. It features a 1.6L I-4 engine and 716 L of cargo volume, making it a lot of fun to drive and surprisingly spacious. The small stature of the Nissan Kicks helps provide excellent fuel efficiency, while the starting price of $20,198 MSRP goes easy on your budget too.[a]
Qashqai
Nissan comes through with a second subcompact option: the Qashqai, which is powered by a 2.0L I-4 engine that's available with a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT. You get nearly 650 L of cargo volume inside with the rear seats up, or about 1,730 L of total available cargo volume behind the front row. Intelligent All-Wheel Drive is available on the Nissan Qashqai, which makes it a great subcompact model for Alberta winters that starts at just $22,198 MSRP.[a]
Rogue
For something a bit larger, while still pretty modest, the Nissan Rogue is a compact SUV with two available engines: a 2.5L I-4 and a 1.5L Turbo I-3. No matter which you choose, you get a fantastic driving experience that's perfect for commuting up to Edmonton or simply enjoying around town. The Rogue gives you more than 2,000 L of total interior cargo volume behind the front seats and starts at $28,998 MSRP.[a]
Murano
One of our favourite options in the Nissan lineup, the Nissan Murano is a midsize SUV with seating for up to five passengers across two rows. There's a 3.5L V6 engine standard in every model, which makes it incredibly fun to drive and perfect for getting to work, running errands, and handling everything else you need. You get more than 1,800 L of total cargo volume with the rear seats down inside the Murano, and it starts at $36,498 MSRP.[a]
Pathfinder
For anyone with an adventurous streak, the Nissan Pathfinder is a three-row SUV that offers plenty of seating with a rugged design ready to take you anywhere you want to go. Redesigned for 2022, the Pathfinder is all-new and offered with a powerful V6 engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission, giving it more than 1,500 kg of towing capacity. With an available 23 cm infotainment screen and a 31 cm digital dashboard display, the Pathfinder has a sophisticated and innovative interior that starts at $44,338 MSRP.[a]
Armada
The final SUV offering in Nissan's lineup, the Armada is a full-size SUV that's perfect if you need a lot of space inside. It's powered by a 5.6L V8 engine that allows for more than 3,850 kg of towing capacity when properly equipped. You get seating for up to eight passengers inside the Nissan Armada, along with more than 4,700 L of total interior volume, making for a fantastic family SUV that starts at $69,198 MSRP.[a]
Nissan Trucks
Frontier
There's a single truck available from Nissan, a midsize pickup that's launching an all-new generation with the 2022 model year. The Nissan Frontier is powered by a new 3.8L V6 engine that offers best-in-class horsepower among similar midsize models and allows for more than 2,900 kg of maximum towing capacity. With the exciting PRO-4X trim, the Frontier is one of the most impressive off-road trucks on the market, and it starts at just $39,998 MSRP.[a]
Electric Options
Leaf
Nissan is no stranger to the electric vehicle market: the Leaf is the second-highest selling all-electric model in history and continues to remain a popular option. Two different battery options are available on the modern Nissan Leaf: the standard battery offers an estimated 240 km of range, while the available Leaf Plus option can take you about 363 km on a full charge. With easy charging at home or on the road, the Leaf is a fantastic model that starts at $37,498 MSRP.[a]
Ariya
While the Leaf might be Nissan's legendary innovator when it comes to electric vehicles, it's about to be joined by the Ariya, a stunning all-electric crossover SUV. Expected to launch this year as a 2023 model, the Ariya is available as either a Standard Range or Extended Range model. Both battery sizes are available with either Front-Wheel Drive or Nissan's e-4ORCE electric All-Wheel Drive. Depending on the model and features you choose, the Ariya can get between 330 km and 482 km of range from a full charge. Although pricing has not been officially revealed on the Ariya, there's no denying this is an impressive next step for the Nissan lineup.
